Web writing isn’t like writing for other mediums.

All types of writing involve putting words into text, yes. But an essay for a college professor doesn’t look like a newspaper column. An e-mail to your boss probably doesn’t look like the ones you write to your best friend.

So what makes one type of writing different from the others?

The content, style, tone, and layout.
